First Belly Picture

As much as I don't want to take pictures of my growing belly...it has been requested of me to do so. Dean took this one today after our doctor's appointment.

Pictures from Ultrasound

Baby A with the crown rump length measuring at 12 weeks 1 day. It is a little fuzzy, but you can tell that it is a baby! :)

Baby B with crown rump length. This one isn't as good, but you can kind of see the baby...still looks perfect to me! :)

Ultrasound #2

Today was a long day, but filled with good news and great views of the babies! The doctor's office is at OHSU, which is up on a hill in Portland. The parking situation up there is bleak to say the least, so they have you park down at the building by the riverfront and you take a tram that goes up over the freeway to the hospital on the hill. It was really fun to finally take our turn on the ride that we have been watching from the window of the fertility clinic for all these years! We had our first official OB appointment first and the doctor answered my every growing list of questions and did a quick scan to see heartbeats and listen to them. Things looked great there, except that "Baby B" wouldn't lay still long enough for the Dr. to get a good reading! But, it was finally found and recorded and both babies looked good. We went back down the hill and had our official scan...and again things looked good here too. They both measured around 12 weeks and had strong heartbeats. They both looked more like babies this time, both had 2 legs and 2 arms and moved them around quite a bit! They did a test called the nuchal translucency test to determine risk of chromosomal abnormalities. Basically they measure the fold on the back of the neck and determine if it measures where it should. "Baby B" did great with this one and moved just right so they were able to get it fairly quickly. "Baby A", on the other hand, refused to move to show the back of the neck and we had to endure over an hour of them pushing and trying to jiggle the baby into a different position! Stubborn already!! They were finally able to get what they needed and both babies look perfectly normal. The pictures are still a little fuzzy, but they do show the shape of a baby more than the ones from before. I am officially off work now, last night was my last night. My doctor filled out my leave papers, so I can take my time in deciding what my next step will be either part time work or none at all. For now, I am looking forward to sleeping at night again! That is about it from us...still not sure when I will be joining Dean in Washington, but it will be soon! Oh, one thing that did change was my due date. The fertility clinic had me at Feb. 6th, but my OB had me at Feb. 9th. I asked about it today and he agreed with them and it is now Feb. 6th, which makes me 12 weeks 3 days pregnant now...every day counts! :)

Getting ready to move!

Just to keep everyone in the loop, we are getting ready to move to Washington. Dean has been working there since January and will be there for close to 2 more years, and fell in love with the area up there, so we are relocating! It is time for us to live under the same roof again! :) Plus, I don't think it is fair that he has missed out on all the fun pregnancy hormone swings that I get to go through, so I am taking them to him! The process will go slow on my end, I move a bit slower these days due to being tired all the time, but we will get it done! I will let you know new addresses and such when the info becomes available. I will be keeping the OB doc. I have in Portland though. I really liked him and he said that it isn't uncommon for him to have patients that live far away, and as long as things look good, I can just come for my visits and have my scans done in Moses Lake, so that is our plan. When it gets closer and I get bigger and he wants me closer, I will just move in with my sister until the babies are born. As far as work goes, I will be taking a leave for a while to get settled in Washington and take my time to decide if I feel like working part time for a while longer. There is a Wal-Mart there in Moses Lake, so the option is there. Other than that, things are just moving right along! Hard to believe I am already 10 weeks pregnant and so far haven't had too much to complain about! I haven't gained too much weight yet, but my pants no longer fit comfortably, so I will be shopping for work attire to get me through my last few weeks here. Our next doctor's appointment is going to be Monday July 28th, so I will update for sure then with all the news about how everyone is doing!

Ultrasound Photos

This is a picture of Baby A with "his" crown rump length and gestational age in the lower right hand corner...not very clear yet what you are looking at, but I have to say it makes me smile every time I see it! (That is Baby B up above...must be a camera hog in the making!)

This is a shot of Baby A's heartbeat...amazing to think that they are so small but we can hear their heartbeat!

Not to be outdone by "his" womb-mate, here is Baby B and the crown rump length. Right now "he" is the bigger baby but we shall see if that changes at all.

And of course Baby B's heartbeat. Just to add a disclaimer here, I say he, but we don't know that to be true yet, for some reason it just comes out as he...I really don't have any preference other than 2 healthy babies!!

Hello all!

Hello there everyone! I am not really sure where to start or what to say but I will give this a try. I guess I will start by officially saying that WE ARE FINALLY PREGNANT!!! We have just had our second ultra sound on this past Monday and saw our 2 little ones safely tucked away growing like they should be! For those of you who don't know our history and what it took to get us here, I will recap! We have been trying to conceive for the last 7 years, 6 of those years, off and on, with the help of doctors. The past year, with some much needed mental health breaks, we have been going through IVF treatments. We have endured much to get here, so to say that we are thrilled to finally be pregnant is not even close to what we are feeling! And then to find out it was twins...too good to be true! I am now just over 9 weeks along now and am finally starting to relax a little and enjoy being on this part of the journey! I will do my best to keep everyone posted on the progress and just what is going on with us in general, but be patient...I tend to drop the ball when it comes to keeping in touch...just ask any of my Aunties! :) Anyway, enjoy what I have so far and keep checking in for future news!
