I finally got it!!

It took a while, but I finally got video of Spencer laughing. He was in the Jumperoo looking at his sister who was in the Exersaucer...too cute! She wasn't really doing anything, but it struck him as funny. They are so much fun to watch and listen to as they find new noises to make every day!
I had the camera out the other night on bath night. They turned on the nighttime crankies early the other night, so I got them ready for the bath and we sang and played for a while. Here they were in Spencer's crib kicking and hanging out. Aubrey found one of Spencer's pacifiers and just started gumming it. I wouldn't be surprised to see a tooth break through soon the way she has been acting...we will see! They actually got into their first fight the other day over the pacifier...she had it and he wanted it. There was pulling and crying involved! We laughed now, but I know that it won't be long and we will cease to find the humor in their fights!
Since she was busy chewing the pacifier, I took some shots of Spencer...my chunky monkey! He is getting to be quite a big boy!
Spencer was playing in the Jumperoo the other day and the next thing I know he was asleep. He didn't cry or get cranky he just laid his head down and took a break! I left him there for a while because I have learned not to move a sleeping baby, but he ended up falling back asleep on my lap, so it worked out!

Woodcutting Weekend

This picture isn't from the weekend, but it is cute! Very rare that I get both babies to smile at me at the same time! This was, I believe, the first taste of carrots. They have eaten their way through most of the vegetables and are ready to start the fruits! As most of you can see, Spencer has really taken to eating! :) He really has the hang of the spoon, and she is getting better every day...there is just too much to look at for her to really commit to learning something as boring as eating with a spoon! This past weekend we spent at Dean's parents' house chopping and stacking wood from the trees that were in their backyard. Of course we picked one of the hottest weekends, but we got it chopped and just about all stacked.

Dean's mom stayed in with the babies and this was their afternoon nap. Aubrey is on one side, nestled under Cheryl's arm and Spencer is propped up on the other. I don't think they lasted that long, but it was cute!

New toys!!

We broke down today and went to a second hand kids store and found some new toys for the babies. Before we left, we tried to find them something new to do and put them in their seats facing each other. It worked for a while, but brothers and sisters get boring after so long! Spencer was laughing at her though....I wasn't quick enough to get video of it though. Maybe next time! Here is Aubrey in the "new" Jumperoo. She really did like it, it just looks like she isn't impressed. She is probably getting tired of me calling her name every minute to get yet another picture of her doing something! Oh well...she will get over it! Spencer was really interested in the Jumperoo too. He loved the lights and music! Big smiles...although not when I had the camera up!

The other one we got was an exersaucer. They are both in great condition and all I really did was wipe it all down with Clorox wipes and I put the toys that did snap off in the dishwasher...good as new! Now I have a few more options for them besides the floor and their swings!
In other non-baby news....we harvested our first big bunch of beets today and I canned my first ever beets! We only got 3 pints of them, but there are lots more getting bigger out there....I am excited! Dean did a great job growing veggies this year!!

Random Pictures

Thanks to Dean and his green thumb, we have quite a garden this year! We had some peas left over the other night, so I tried to mash them up good enough to give them to the babies...I didn't get it quite right though. They like the baby food peas, but the fresh ones were a little chunky for them! I started going to a bible study at our new church on Tuesdays and the babies go to the nursery while I am there. I usually pack extra bibs in the diaper bag knowing that Spencer will spit up on his if I don't. I must not have restocked after the last incident with Spencer, because when I picked them up, he was in her bib. It was funny to me, but looking at Spencer's face, he didn't! :)
These next two pictures were taken on different days. Both of my babies are having trouble with sitting the right way in their swings. It is almost time to retire the swings...they are getting too big for them, but I am scared to take them away just yet! They work as a second set of hands for me during the day!

We went walking yesterday with Dean's mom and sister and decided to try the stroller without the car seats snapped in. They did really good and seemed to enjoy looking out at things. They look so big sitting up like this though...time is going way to fast!! They are 6 months old now!!
And here is a shot from this morning playing while getting dressed for the day. We were singing "If you're happy and you know it raise your feet!"

Happy 4th Of July

We had a fun day at Dean's parent's house today. We tried these feeder things that allow the babies to get the juice of what is in the little bag but no chunks. We put watermelon in them and no surprise, Spencer loved his! I think the cold of the melon felt good on his gums! He enjoyed his little treat more than his sister did.
We also had some more green beans in the chair at Grandma's house. They both looked so big in the chair...they are growing way too fast! I love this first picture because his face is priceless! Whatever I am telling him he isn't quite buying!

The next couple picture are a good visual of what his meltdowns look like! He started out so smiley and cute beyond words...

Became frustrated with Mommy because she kept taking stupid pictures of me in the chair but stopped feeding me...

And came back to calm after a few tickles and kisses from his Mommy!

He practiced sitting up with the help of Katie-Girl, Julie's dog. The dogs are so good around the babies...Katie didn't even move while he sat there and played.
Then there is miss Aubrey...she never stopped smiling when she was in the seat. She is just a beautiful little girl...amazing!
Her facial expressions are just adorable, if I do say so myself!

Hope you all had a great 4th. Thank you Aunt Cathy and Aunt Geri for the cute outfits for the holiday! Love you all!!

Green Beans and rolling over!

We had our first taste of green beans today...they weren't too sure about it. They each had a handful of bites before they had enough. As you can see they ended up with more on them than in them, but that is ok, they are learning!
Another big moment in the Crosson house is Aubrey's accomplishment of rolling over!! Yeah Aubrey!! She now can flip over to her tummy and most of the time back to her back without too much crying! Spencer is a rolling machine! Every time I turn around he has rolled to another part of the living room floor! It is fun though...now we are working on sitting without help! It is all going so fast!
