Thank you to Savannah and Peyton...better late than never!

A while back our cousins, Savannah and Peyton, sent us these great blankets and we just wanted to say thank you very much! We love the bright colors and the soft fleece! We will have lots of cuddle time in them this winter, I am sure!! Sorry it took so long to say thanks...Mommy's mind isn't as sharp as it used to be! We both are looking forward to meeting you and all of our Wisconsin cousins someday!! Love you, Spencer and Aubrey The colors on Spencer's blanket are so bright...he loves to just look at all the animals. It took a while for me to get him to look at me!

Aubrey just loves to be in the pictures! She was pretty happy to get wrapped up in her pretty blanket too! The inside of her blanket says Miracle Baby...that she is! :)

New Carseats

We traded in the infant carriers and got the bigger car seats...a sad day for me I must say! I can't believe that they are just too big for stuff already! I also packed up the swings because they were just too big and didn't sit in them right anymore and I was afraid of an accident happening! They are both doing good...getting over their first colds and probably teething on top of it so needless to say our wonderful sleep routine has been upset! They are still pretty upbeat and act pretty normal for the most part, but when they get cranky they don't mess around! They did enjoy trying out the seats in the house though! Aubrey smiling like always!
Kicking her feet...like always!

And Spencer being way too serious for the situation!

Here is a grin, but don't ask for a full on smile!

Trip to Klamath Falls

The kids and I took a trip down to Klamath Falls this weekend to visit with Mom and Dad...it was a lot of fun! It was a little overwhelming being by myself on the road, but we made it and did pretty good...Aubrey wasn't having the time of her life, but she managed to sleep for most of it! Here they are on the way down at the rest stop after a diaper change and ready to get back on the road! Here was some floor time. Spencer hasn't really sat up without help yet...but he did a great job this weekend! Here he is helping himself to his sister's pacifier! And now she is returning the favor! (notice Spencer is still sitting up!)
We put them on the floor on some blankets and I used a blanket to keep them separated...she is a crazy sleeper and I didn't want him getting kicked in his sleep!Dad and SpencerAubrey and DadSpencer in the sink getting a bath before bed! Aubrey really enjoyed her bath! These next few were taken before they went to sleep. Mom got them some new pj's because they are on the verge of busting out of the ones we have...they are just too tall!! So, they have new pj's and were having a great time getting pictures taken. Spencer was smiling at Aunt Kristine so I took a few shots!I think she was doing her best Elvis impression...she did a great job! :)It was hot when we got home and they were tired and cranky, so I cut up a Popsicle and put it in the little feeder things we have...it was messy, but they were quiet for a while!

Babysitting Andrea

I got to babysit for a good friend of mine today...and will again I hope. Andrea was with us today for a few hours and we had a great time. The kids loved her and just laughed at whatever she did...all the movement was really funny to them I guess! She has a little brother that is 2 weeks older than the babies and he will be joining us too...that should be interesting! :) Here are some pictures from today. This is Andrea feeling a bit left out being the only kid without a pacifier...so she took the one for her doll and used it! I am sure Pat is going to be thrilled by that, but hopefully it is only at my house that she wants it! Aubrey loved having another little person around the house today! She watched her every move and laughed at just about anything she did! She also was a great source of entertainment for Spencer...she was really good at putting his pacifier back in if he spit it out! She also shared her doll with him, which he was more than happy to drool on!Buster was also happy to see another little person! He gave her kisses all morning, and she would say "No No Lick!", but then stick her face right by his waiting for the next lick! She also had to try out the exersaucer! She also loved the swings and tried to sit in those too...but settled for putting her doll in them instead. After a couple hours of watching Andrea play and fighting the urge to take a nap, Aubrey finally just couldn't take it anymore and fell asleep in the Jumperoo. It wasn't a long nap though, just enough to charge her batteries and she was up and jumping again! :)This was from last Saturday at a baby shower. This is one of my best friends, Jodie, with Spencer. He is such a serious little guy...he does smile too though, I promise!
This is Sunday morning before we started getting ready for church. Aubrey sits up so good now, she doesn't need any support. Spencer really could care less about sitting, but does enjoy standing with your help. They had fun looking at each other...it was cute.
Here she is dressed and ready for church and sleeping in her high chair. We fed them their breakfast and I went to finish getting ready and Dean gave them their bottles...well, she didn't make it to her turn before she closed her eyes and took a little snooze

Update on Spencer

Well, we had our first x-ray on Monday and he was a trooper and did a great job staying still! The results weren't as good, however. The doctor said that the suture in the front of his skull has already closed...not good! So, we have an appointment with a Neurosurgeon on September 4th to discuss what to do next. Our pediatrician said that she has had a couple patients that have had the same thing and one did have to have surgery and one didn't...so we will have to wait and see at this point. I will keep you all updated when we know more...until then just pray that all goes well! Other than that, we are all doing great and looking forward to a trip to Klamath Falls this weekend to see Mom and Dad! Have a great weekend everyone!!

6 month check up

We had our 6 month check up yesterday. Both babies look good and healthy, so says the doc! Spencer weighed in at a robust 20 lbs and he was 28 inches long. He was in the 85% for height and 79% for weight. All in all he looked good. I did ask her about his forehead and how it sticks out a bit and she said that there is a chance that the front part of his skull may have fused early. His head is growing normally so she isn't really concerned, but he will have an x-ray on Monday just to see what is going on. I will let everyone know as soon as we do!

Aubrey weighed in at 17lbs 13oz and was 27 1/2 inches long. She was in the 90% for height and 72% for weight. She sailed through the check up and shots with no problem. She didn't even cry for the first one, but when she got the second one she let her feelings know! Both babies did well and weren't too cranky afterward either.
Here they are together...you can really see Spencer's size when they are next to each other! I only had my phone to take pictures with so they aren't that clear, but still cute! :) We also stopped the middle of the night bottle as of last night. The doctor said now would be a good time, so we did! They woke up a few times through the night, but I didn't really have a big fight to get them back down. Just re-plugged them with their pacis and restarted the music and projector thingy that Mom got them. They would always quiet back down, so I am hoping a few more nights of it and they will just sleep through...I can hope anyway! They do pretty good anyway so it is more or less just fine tuning things!
This is how I found her in the swing this morning! She is almost completely upside down! Crazy girl!! She is an extreme swinger! :) Never a dull moment!

A day with Katie and more laughing

My very good friend, Jodie, needed someone to watch her little girl the other day, and thankfully I was able to do it. She, Katie, is a precious 7 year old who is always a lot of fun! We had a good time and she was a big help with the babies! She was interested in helping with everything, even the diapers, much to my surprise! :) Here are some shots of her helping with the feeding. These are also the first shots of the new high chairs! We had to retire the bumbos due to someones chunky thighs not really fitting in the little hole anymore. (We won't mention any names to protect his feelings!)

Here is Katie with Spencer....too cute! She had them both laughing most of the day. It is funny to me how they react to other little people...they are both so interested in whatever they are doing!

And Miss Aubrey eating her brother's bib...if it is in her reach it is in her mouth! We are both learning fast just how long her little arms really are.

The other day Dean's sister, Julie, and I were just hanging out with the kiddos and I started moving my feet by Aubrey and she just started laughing. I don't know what was so funny about my feet, but Julie got the camera and was able to get a little of it on video! All the toys around her and she is laughing at my feet! :)
