Bath Time

The kids had their first baths with the soap crayons and loved them! My mother in law, Dawn, suggested giving them the magic erasers along with the crayons and they can clean up while they go...that was almost as much fun as the crayons. (The water did start out clear...it was a really nasty gray by the time they finished with the bath.) Aubrey's new thing is laying down in the tub on her tummy.

Feeding the ducks

We have had a full weekend of activities...kind of like we are trying to fit in everything we wanted to do in the last week of summer. This first one isn't one of the funnest activities we did, but the kids helped me out with the dusting today. Too cute...they did a pretty good job too!
These are our nieces, Brittany and Bethany who came to play with us at the park today. The park didn't have the toddler swings, so we tried them on the regular swings and just barely pushed them...they did pretty good. They actually tried to rock the swings themselves to get them going. They are getting too big...

This is Bethany, she is 2 1/2 and very cute.

They sure do love their Uncle Dean.

Brittany, she is 4 and very fun.

Auntie Julie swinging with Aubrey.

Brittany chasing Spencer to help get him over to where the rest of the group was.

Aubrey eating part of the popcorn she was supposed to throw to the ducks and goose who are patiently waiting.Spencer wanted to make sure he got his share too.
Bethany with Auntie Julie and her new friend, who we named Gary. Aubrey throwing her popcorn...it didn't go very far, but she managed to get it in the water.
Spencer with his throw...
It really surprised me that they had no fear down there in the middle of all the birds...they didn't even pretend to be scared.
Dean got one of the geese to eat from his hand.
The whole gang, minus Brittany.
Even Dean ate some of the popcorn.
My boys walking down to the water...precious.

State Fair and the Carousel Park

We have had a busy weekend, but it has been fun! We took the kids to the state fair on Friday and had a great time. It was hot, but we managed to keep cool enough to have fun looking at all there was to see. We didn't do the rides this year because I was just afraid that they were too little even though they met the height requirement on most of the rides. Here is Aubrey giving some love to her Auntie Julie. Spencer enjoying a funnel cake...one of the best things about the fair! :) The petting zoo. Spencer wasn't to sure of all the animals to start out with, but he got more comfortable the longer he stayed in it.

Spencer's first time on a tractor...he cried when we took him off.

Today we went to the carousel park and played at the park and went on the carousel too. We had a great time and the kids loved it! We discovered today that Aubrey not only can but loves to go down the slide by herself. It is crazy that she is big enough to do that...I don't want her to be big enough to do that yet...

She wasn't even scared of the spiral slide.
The kiddos on the bouncy walkway

Aubrey getting brave and letting go of the rail...this girl is going to be the death of me...she has NO fear!
Deep in thought about her next move...she wanted to just run around and do everything she possible could.More sliding...Spencer is still getting the hang of it all.
Aubrey going down the slide on her own.

Auntie Julie and Aubrey on the carousel.
She was just heartbroken when the ride stopped and she had to get off the horse. I have never heard her cry so hard!
Spencer wasn't too sure about the carousel, but did much better on this one that didn't move up and down.
Aubrey LOVED being on the horse.
This one moved and he wasn't too happy about that...this was his last ride of the day.
This was the only time that Aubrey cried was when it stopped and she had to get off.
