Trip To Wisconsin

This November I made a quick trip to Wisconsin for my Grandpa Krueger's funeral.  Definitely not the circumstances I wanted to travel under, but it was nice to see family all the same.  We gathered a few times at my cousin Naomi's house in her heated garage where the card tables came out and some catching up took place.

The Krueger boys, (minus Uncle George), Uncle Roger, Uncle Allen, Uncle Gene, Dad, and Uncle Lyle.
What do the Kruegers do when they get together? Play cards of course!
The Krueger cousins. We are only missing 3 of the girls so this was the perfect time to get together for a photo. Hard to believe that we are all grown up...mostly. ;)
This has nothing to do with my trip to Wisconsin, but the kids were cute and probably the reason most of the people who still look at the pictures on here come to see.  They made Pilgrim hats at church today and wanted their picture taken in them.

Halloween 2012

We grew our own pumpkins this year...here is the mammoth that Dean grew in our garden this year.  He said it weighed in at 125 lbs.

Poor girl had to almost go head first into the pumpkin to reach the bottom to scoop out all the seeds.  It was fun to watch them dig in. :)

Aubrey told me that she wanted to be a purple butterfly with a magic wand...and of course she wanted make up on her face too.  She saw the picture of the face paint on the tag from her costume and wanted to look just like that. This was my best effort at facepainting.

My purple butterfly and my fireman.  We went on a 4 store hunt for his fireman rain boots on Halloween day, nothing like a last minute idea to send me into a race against the clock! :) Anyway, when we finally found them, they were on sale so I got a pair for Aubrey too.  She opted to wear them instead of the sparkle shoes I got for her to wear.  She almost looked like a punk rock butterfly. Spencer was a fireman, the costume came from Costco and was so real looking...and feeling.  It was pretty heavy .  He loves to dress up in it still.

The cousins all ready to go.  Dean's brother came over with his kids and we all went together.  It was so much more fun for them this year to go in a group. We went to our church's Trunk or Treat event, another church down the street for a carnival, and then finished up trick or treating some houses on my friend's street before the rain started and we called it a night.  They got a BUNCH of candy and were so happy.  Love to experience it with them and feel the excitement of it all just like when I was a kid.

Labor Day Weekend

We had a jam-packed Labor Day Weekend filled with friends, fair, family, and of course fun! :) The first few pictures are from Friday at the Carousel Park in Salem where we met some great friends for a picnic and some play time!

Waiting for his courage to match his desire to get on the carousel.
She has no problem riding...such a big girl.
Aubrey with one of our good friends, Katie, on the horses.
 He made it!! :)
The next couple are from the State Fair on Saturday.

 A sandbox filled with corn...great!

All this from the corn to the barrel rides was set up by the Willamette Valley Fruit Company, which is where we go to do our berry picking...great berries and a great set up for the fair! :)

A true farmer at heart! :)

Spencer won a free ice cream cone from the dairy booth at the fair...great way to end our day at the fair.

You know it is successful when both kids fall asleep before you even leave the parking lot!
Dean's union had a Labor Day picnic at the Oaks Park Amusement Park in Portland.  They had a shuttle train that took us to the park and back to our car, which was Spencer's favorite part of the whole day. This first picture is a great one of some Daddy snuggles waiting for the train.
 All Aboard!
 On the train! :)

 At the park!

 A classic Spencer face...love it!

I am probably a bad mom for taking this picture, but it was too funny...Spencer was crying and Aubrey was smiling so big! They may be twins, but they are very different! :)

Dean and the kiddos by the train we rode on. :)
