Spencer's first haircut and other stuff

We gave Spencer his first haircut a few weeks ago...he did great with it too. I was really surprised that he sat as still as he did, especially when she used the clippers! Dean's mom did it and it turned out pretty cute. We just kind of trimmed around his ears and straightened out the back...he needs more taken off the top now, but we will deal with that later! It makes him look like such a little boy and not really a baby anymore! Sad!! But, it was really needed, his hair was really long around his ears. My little man!Aubrey has started crawling into the table and sitting between the legs like this...there is only one problem with it...she has gotten her head stuck between the legs 2 times now! She panics and I have to come rescue her! Thank goodness it is an easy rescue and I don't have to join her in the panic! :)I can really tell a difference here with his haircut...he just looks older! They are both growing so fast and changing so much! They truly are a blessing!We had them dedicated at church a week ago and needed a picture of them to put up on the screen...this was the best on we got out of all that we took. I can never get them to smile when it is important and I have a camera pointed at them!I loved this one of Spencer...it is close up, but just look at that face!Here they are the morning of the dedication. You can tell that Aubrey still isn't feeling 100%, but they made it through and are finally healthy again! (knock on wood!)This is Aubrey and Cody, the little guy I babysit. They fight over EVERYTHING!! Cody was sitting in the empty toy tote, so that is where Aubrey just had to go! They were pushing and crying at each other until I got the camera. They get along...but if they want the same thing watch out!! (Cody is two weeks older than the twins so we basically have triplets during the week...it is fun!) That pretty much brings you up to date with us. Aubrey is walking now pretty good, Spencer is still just crawling. They each have one tooth now, Aubrey just got hers last week. I will try to get video of the walking and will try to get pictures up more often than I have been! Take care everyone!!

First Birthday

We FINALLY were able to have the kids birthday party! Dean, unfortunately, was sick and stayed in the bedroom, but we made it!! Everything worked out just great and we had a pretty big gathering of family! We are truly blessed to have so much family around us! Here we are waiting to open presents...Aubrey had some trouble staying in her bag!Spencer waits patiently...Aubrey has to be held down! :)Here we are opening presents. I did most of the opening and they just played with the toys...it was fun to watch them react to all the new toys!Some of the party-goers...I think at this point most of the opening has taken place and been cleaned up. Spencer is doing what most little guys do...playing with the boxes!More fun toys that make all kinds of noise!Aubrey got a baby doll and loved it...Spencer loved her eyes that blinked! Aubrey trying to walk with help with the new popper!Miss Aubrey with her party hat on all cleaned up after birthday cupcakes! Here is the birthday cake. Dean's sister Julie made it. It turned out so good!! Perfectly boy and perfectly girl!! We are so lucky to have such talent in the family!Waiting for the treats that they hope are coming! Spencer was really happy to be turning one...he just hides his excitement well!They started out very timid and not really sure of what to do. I put a little princess toy on her cupcake and a toy truck on Spencer's to entice them in to touching the cupcakes. She used the one finger approach...very dainty and ladylike.He used the full hand approach...why mess around was his thought!He got the job done with no problems!! He was in heaven eating the sweet treat!!This is about the messiest she got. At some point she reached over to Spencer's tray and "gave" him half her cupcake...which he ate faster than fast just in case someone was going to take it away from him!

You should always wash down your cupcake with a nice drink! :) So...all in all we had a great time watching them enjoy being the center of attention again! We missed all the family that was far away and couldn't come to celebrate with us.

Random Photos

Since it has been a while, here are some random photos of our life out in Oregon! This first one is the new sign Dad made for us. I love it....it turned out so nice! Here is Aubrey going for a little walk with her Nana...she was so thrilled with herself to be able to walk and only hold a finger! She has progressed to taking a few steps on her own before she gets so tickled and falls down. She is getting too big for her own good.

I made them blueberry pancakes with frozen blueberries...they loved them, but it did make quite a mess!

This is their favorite place to play. They play hide and seek in the curtain and bang on the window! It gets really loud when Buster is on the other side waiting to come in!

First Birthday Weekend

I just wanted to give a quick update on why there are still no pictures from their big birthday weekend. Long story short, I woke up Friday morning running a fever and went to the doctor and was told that I have the flu. So, needless to say any plans we had were quickly cancelled and postponed until the 30th when my parents will be up this way again. Saturday morning we woke up to Spencer having a red rash over most of his body and of course we freaked. He ended up having an allergic reaction to something, we still aren't 100% sure what. He is looking MUCH better now and was never really bothered by it, which is good. I am finally feeling better and will probably pull through! Stay tuned though, birthday festivities are coming!!

Blowing Kisses

I managed to get Spencer blowing kisses to Dean...and then he noticed me with the camera and gave me his cheesy grin. He officially crawled too...forward even! My goal this week is to get a video of him crawling!



Here is a photo of Aubrey drinking out of her sippy cup. Both of the kids drink with the cup upside down...don't really know why!

As hard as it is to believe, they will be one in just under a week! I can't imagine that it was a year ago! It went WAY too fast!!

Christmas Festivities

Sorry for the delay in posting the Christmas pictures...but here they are! My friend Christina and her Mom, Michelle, make the stockings that we have. They sent ours out a few years ago, our names are on them too. This year they sent the snowmen this year for the kids. They are so adorable!!Dean and Spencer in the morning after a really early wake up by Spencer. Dean usually takes the "morning shift" with the kids since I still get up with them at night when they need help finding their pacifiers. They were just too cute cuddled together and then he smiled right when I snapped the picture! Dean doing what he loves to do...play games on his computer...Aubrey doesn't feel the same about it! It worked to put her to sleep though!Spencer opening his first Christmas present...he still didn't have an idea of what he was supposed to do. Give him any other piece of paper though and he will have it shredded! Aubrey fell asleep right when we started to open presents. Spencer opening more presents. He is sitting on his new quilt that Dean's mom made him. Aubrey got one too, but hers is pink...very special!Presents were opened, he got dressed for church and then fell asleep with his Grandpa Curt!Aubrey with Uncle Eric chewing on a present that was yet to be opened!Sitting with Grandpa in the new jammies from Pat! Nana and Grandpa with Spencer and Aubrey....the matching jammies were just too cute! I will probably do that every year from now on!And the fighting begins and the present isn't even opened yet! They fought back and forth for possession of the tube for a while before we finally broke it up.That one present lasted a long time before it finally got all the way opened! Finally playing with bath squirters that were inside the tube...Uncle Eric also gave them a handful of balloons from his work. They love to play with them...the simplest things amuse them for the longest time!This was the first present that she took after all by herself....she just kept ripping a little at a time until it was opened!Dean was taking pictures of the two of them and this one just made me laugh! I love her face!!Christmas morning at our house. We got them bean bags...they sit in them pretty good, just have to watch Spencer on his dismount. He isn't really graceful and hasn't crawled yet, so he just kind of falls out!Both bean bags, although they are in each others bags....Spencer playing with his favorite toy...the plastic bowl that we put the rings in. He loves to put it on his head like a hat!Spencer and I opening his present from his Wisconsin Aunties.Dean and Aubrey opening her Wisconsin Aunties present!Mom with the babies reading one of their new books to them. He went from fussing to his smile when he saw the camera. We had a wonderful time with family over the holidays. It was such a joy to watch the babies enjoy their first Christmas. Now we have a 1st birthday to plan and celebrate their first year!!!
